If going with the natural option It is advised to have a Danish oil or clear wax finish, all inclusive, to preserve the wood and protect it from dirt and contact from natural skin oils. For garden use in addition to choosing Marine Plywood it is recommended to have an initial varnish finish to extend the life of the furniture. This will need sanding down and topping up in time to continue to protect. Oils and varnishes may alter the colour of the wood. A wax will not change the appearance of the wood.
